Leon Balogun, Super Eagles of Nigeria defender, on Friday, joined Glasgow Rangers, Scottish Premier League side, on a one-year deal.
The German-born Nigerian has the option of a contract extension for another year at the Ibrox stadium where he will don the number 26 jersey.
The 32-year-old, who recently left Wigan after the end of his short-term deal, was ecstatic about joining the 54-time Scottish league winners.
“It’s amazing. I’m coming to a club which has an incredible history and an incredible fan culture,” Balogun told RangersTV.

Balogun, who only played eight league games during his two-year stint at Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League (EPL), also looked forward to playing and being successful in front of the club’s over 50,000 all-seated capacity stadium.
“Obviously, to have this kind of crowd behind you in every game at home is amazing. I’ve been lucky enough to experience it, or something similar before in my career at some stages, but I just want to experience it as everyone has been telling me you have no idea just how big it is, and I am looking forward to getting started and getting in touch with them,” he said.
“Hopefully, we can have some successes together.”

A fully fit Balogun, Rangers’ fourth signing this summer, will join the rest of the squad on Monday for preparation for the new season.
“I think it is an advantage for me not to be coming off 14 days or 21 days break so I can come straight to fit into it, work with the team and get to know the team,” Balogun added.
“The league starts next week, so I am looking forward to joining the squad and integrating as quickly as possible.”
The Scottish Premier League season start on August 1.
