Less than seven weeks after the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Liberia free of ebola, fresh cases have emerged, killing a 17-year-old.
The country recorded 4,700 deaths, the highest rate of casualty among the west African countries affected during the outbreak of the virus.
The last ebola patient in Liberia died on March 27.
“We have two confirmed cases today in Liberia,” said Moses Massaquoi, case management team leader for Liberia’s ebola task force.
