In 2007, when Jose Mourinho left Chelsea as a manager, he joined Inter Milan for another two years. History is having a repeat, as another former Chelsea manager joins the Italian Serie A side.
Inter Milan have appointed Antonio Conte, the former Chelsea coach, as their new manager following the sack of Luciano Spalletti, its former coach.
The Italian club made the announcement Friday morning on its official website, unveiling the 49-year-old manager who would take charge of the former Italian champions.
Inter Milan finished fourth in the league, managing to qualify for the UCL on the last day of the season. But club President, Steven Zhang, believes the club has more potential and should be one of the best in the world, therefore, the need to turn to Conte who won three consecutive Italian league titles while at Juventus.

“I’m certain he’ll help us achieve our objective and fulfil our mission, one which has remained the same: to make this club one of the best in the world again,” the president stated.
Conte, on his part, stated his ambition of doing exactly what is required of him in his new role despite his checkered two-year stint as Chelsea coach in which he won the EPL in his first season before an acrimonious exit despite winning the FA Cup in his second year.
“A new chapter in my life is beginning, I’m really excited,” he told the club media.

“Through my work, I’ll try to repay all of the trust that the president and directors have placed in me. I have chosen Inter because of the club it is, because of the project’s sound basis and how ambitious it is. Because of Inter’s history. I was struck by the club’s transparency and the desire to bring Inter back to where it belongs,” he concluded.
Former Juventus and Italian national team manager, Antonio Conte, will be attempting to resuscitate an Inter Milan side who won the Uefa Champions League in 2010, but have gone downhill ever since.
