British ice cream makers, The Licktators, have re-launched their breast milk ice cream product in commemoration of the arrival of the next Royal baby of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The Ice cream, which has now been branded ‘Royal Baby Gaga’ ice cream, is made from Breast Milk donated by mothers around the UK, screened in line with hospital standards then blended with Madagascan vanilla.
Licktators re-branded the product, developed in 2011 in collaboration with breastfeeding campaigner and 30-year-old mother Victoria Hiley, “to remind the Duchess of Cambridge, and mothers around the country, of the benefits of breastfeeding”.
“And also how delicious breast milk is, whatever your age” Victoria said.

“There was huge support from breastfeeding women for Baby Gaga ice cream in 2011, yet some politicians still stigmatise women for breastfeeding in public”.
“We thought the birth of a Royal baby was a great time to whip up support for mums and say that when it comes to ice cream this summer, breast is best.”
The product was initially just known as ‘Baby Gaga’ Ice cream, but Lady Gaga threatened to sue them because of the name, describing it as “nausea-inducing”, The company refused to change it; and within a week of going on sale, the ice cream was seized by officers of Westminster Council so they could conduct safety tests.

Licktators are known for amusing ice cream products such as the ‘female Viagra’ ice cream launched for Valentine’s Day earlier this year.
The product was made from an aphrodisiac Ecuadorian chocolate laced with Lady Prelox, a natural plant-based pleasure enhancer which supposedly increases blood flow to the sexual regions and has been found to heighten women’s libidos.
The ‘Royal baby Gaga’ ice cream is available on The Licktators website and from selected retailers in the UK. However a recipe is published on the website, so you can make breast milk ice cream at home.
