Crystal Palace held ten-man Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at Anfield on Monday night.

The Reds had record summer signing Darwin Nunez sent off on 51 minutes but rallied back to cancel Wilfred Zaha’s opener through Luiz Diaz.

Zaha gave Crystal Palace the lead in the 33rd minute after he finished off a counter-attack to hand the Eagles a lead they held on to at the interval.

Liverpool continued to plug away after the interval but a moment of rage from Nunez saw the home side reduced to ten men.

The Uruguayan striker headbutted Joachim Anderson in an off-the-ball incident, earning a straight dismissal from the referee.

Diaz, however, cancelled the deficit after he danced beyond three players before planting his shot into the far corner.

The draw means Liverpool remain winless after two matches into the new season following their opening day draw at Fulham.
