Liverpool have announced the signing of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich in a deal worth £20 million.
The Reds welcomed the arrival of the Spanish international on Friday, as he signed a four-year contract. He is expected to wear the number six jersey.
According to the Sky Sports, Bayern Munich would receive £20 million across the four years with the potential for a further £5 million in add-ons.
“I think it’s an amazing feeling [to join Liverpool],” said the former Barcelona youngster while expressing his excitement at signing for the club that shares his desire to win.

“When the years are passing, you are trying to win as much as you can – and when you win, you want to win more. I think this club describes what I am as well; I want to achieve all of the goals, win as many trophies as possible.
“It also [has] this kind of family [feeling] that I need because we [like to] have a very close relationship with the club and I think I will feel this, I will have this feeling, with this club as well.”

The 29-year-old helped Bayern win the treble last season, as they beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final last month in Lisbon.

“Absolutely great – I’m really happy that it finally worked out and we could just do it,” said Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager.
“I know all the people at Bayern wanted to keep him desperately. That’s normal and understandable because he played an important role, in the last season as well.
“He just was ready for a new challenge and he decided for us. When we spoke about all the players, he respects them all massively. He admires them.
“We played against him when we played Munich in the Champions League two years ago, so he knows what kind of machine we can be and he wanted to be part of that.”
