Donald Trump, Republican nominee, in the ongoing US presidential election, on Tuesday said a loss will amount to a “waste of time, money and energy”.

In a telephone interview with Fox, Trump said he devoted a lot to the campaign.

“A loss will be a tremendous waste of money, energy and time,” he said.

“If we don’t win, I will consider this the single greatest waste of time, energy…and money. I have invested $100 million in this bid.”

He said the election campaign has “been a beautiful process”.

He added that one of the greatest lessons in the campaign is that the people are amazing.

“I’ve been all over the country and met people on every level … and they are amazing,” he said.

“I think if people say ‘What have you learned?’ That’s what I’ve learned. The people in his country are amazing.”

His son Donald Trump, jr, described the last 18 months as “the longest 10 years of my life”.

The younger Trump was actively involved in the campaign.
