LP: APC using moles to disrupt our election petition at Lagos tribunal

The Labour Party (LP) in Lagos has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using some members as “moles” to disrupt its governorship election petition at the tribunal.

In a statement on Wednesday, Dayo Ekong, LP chairperson in the state, accused two chieftains of the party — Abayomi Arabambi and Samuel Akingbade — of working for the APC.

Ekong alleged that Abayomi and Akingbade mobilised some thugs to pose as LP members to stand as witnesses against the party at the tribunal.

“The whole world is living witnesses to the flagrant abuse and wicked activities of some former members of the national working committee of the Labour Party in the persons of Arabambi Abayomi and Samuel Oyelekan Akingbade in meddling provocatively in the affairs of Labour Party in Lagos state,” Ekong said.

“The party addressed the press two days ago through the secretary where we narrated how Arabambi and Akingbade have been going around the election petition tribunal sittings in the state to nefariously supplant our legal counsels with their APC moles.

“They have even gone to the point of mobilising thugs to pose as members of the party to stand as witnesses against the Labour Party in the proceedings of the tribunal.

“This is the height of rascality and ignoble brigandage.

“I want to vehemently say at this juncture that we will no longer tolerate this recklessness and the rascality of these individuals who have shown the whole world that they and their cohorts are working for APC both in their private and public lives.”

On Wednesday, there was drama at the Lagos tribunal when LP members clashed with Arabambi over the legal representation of the party.
