LP suspends 11 officials over ‘anti-party activities’ during Nasarawa guber poll

The Labour Party (LP) in Nasarawa has suspended 11 executive members over alleged anti-party activities during the March 18 governorship and state assembly polls.

Alex Emmanuel, Nasarawa LP chairperson, and Ashime Benjamin, assistant secretary, in a statement on Thursday, said the suspended members supported another party, thereby “ridiculing” the LP.

They said the suspension of the members is in conjunction with the national leadership of the LP.

“With reference to a complaint made to LP headquarters dated March 24 and the responses received, we bring to your notice that the suspended members have gone contrary to the party’s Constitution,” the statement reads.
