The affected areas are Galadimawa, Suncity, Macido, Human Rights Radio, Wonderland, Ammasco, Adenco, African University, and Kabusa Garden.

Others include Games Village and environs, Aco Estate, Trade More Estate, Lugbe Across, Pyakassa and environs.

TheCable understands that the affected areas have not had power supply since June 9.

In a recent statement, the AEDC linked the situation to technical faults on one of the power transformers.

The electricity distribution company (DisCo) said the faulty transformer is located at Kukwaba transmission station.

Although the DisCo did not state the duration of the power interruption, it said the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is working to restore power.

“This is to inform residents in some parts of Abuja that the power outage currently being experienced is due to a technical fault on one of the Power Transformers at Kukwaba Transmission Station,” the statement reads.

“The TCN technical team is working tirelessly to rectify the fault and restore power supply as quickly as possible.

The DisCo also apologised for the inconvenience caused.

On May 31, the AEDC had asked all customers with outstanding bills to clear their debts or risk disconnection.

The company advised customers to settle their accounts by June 3 to prevent service disruption, stressing that payments must be made “within 72 hours of this notice”.
