Fayose: Buhari’s anti-graft war is like Satan calling Judas Iscariot a sinner

Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has likened President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption fight to “satan calling Judas Iscariot a sinner”.

Fayose said this in reaction to the reported posting of Abdulrasheed Maina, ex-chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, to the ministry of interior.

Maina was said to have fled the country in 2015 after being indicted for alleged diversion of N2 billion public fund.

On Monday, Fayose said Maina’s case is a confirmation of his earlier claim that Buhari was after his political opponents in the guise of fighting corruption.

“Someone accused of stealing billions of pension fund was returned to the FG civil service, and you still think Buhari is fighting corruption?” he wrote.

“Didn’t I tell Nigerians that Buhari was not fighting any corruption? Didn’t I say that Buhari was only after his political opponents?

“Fellow Nigerians, are you now convinced that Buhari’s anti-corruption fight is like Satan calling Judas Iscariot a sinner?

“I said it then that the kind of corruption that will be witnessed in this govt of Buhari will be unprecedented, am I not being vindicated?”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had declared Maina wanted.

The commission is said to have re-launched a manhunt for him after news of his return to the country and subsequent posting filtered in.
