A man died while attempting to escape, following the invasion of the Nigerian Army liaison office in the Maitama area of Abuja, by suspected hoodlums.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said three hoodlums invaded the military facility at about 8:20pm on Monday.
“Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 8:20 p.m. when three unidentified hoodlums stormed the facility located at No. 38 Euphrates street, Maitama. Upon sighting soldiers on duty, they attempted to flee,” the publication said.
The publication noted that one of the invaders sustained fatal injuries and was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.

Makama added that the police had launched an investigation into the incident, and the deceased was deposited at a nearby morgue.
“One of the suspects sustained fatal injuries during the escape attempt and was rushed to Maitama District Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the medical doctor on duty. The remaining two suspects managed to escape,” Makama said.
“The Maitama division of the FCT police command is leading efforts to track down the fleeing suspects.”
