Man dies while on ‘19 days dry fast’ in Lagos

The police command in Lagos says an unnamed resident of the state has died while on a spiritual fast.

NAN quoted Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson of the police command, on Tuesday, as saying that the man, a 58-year-old, died on Monday at about 6:00 am.

Hundeyin said the man passed on in the Alagbado axis of Lagos.

The spokesperson said a younger brother of the deceased reported the incident at about 7:00 pm to the Alagbado police division.

Hundeyin said the late man’s sibling told the police that his elder brother had committed himself to “19 days dry fast”.

“No foul play suspected, family demands to convey the corpse for burial,” he said.
