Manchester United and Chelsea have both qualified for next season’s Champions League after the two clubs won their final English Premier League (EPL) matches to confirm their places in the top four.

The Red Devils and Blues clinch the third and fourth places respectively with victories over Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the season.

While United needed goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard — his first since December 2018 — to overcome Leicester, Chelsea made light work of Wolves, thanks to Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud.

United’s win means the Red Devils will return to the elite European football next season, while Leicester will make do with Europa League.

Wolves’ defeat also means Tottenham clinched a Europa place with a draw at Crystal Palace.

Watford, Bournemouth relegated, Aston Villa safe!

It was also judgment day at the bottom of the EPL table with relegation beckoning for three clubs — Aston Villa, Watford and Bournemouth.

While Aston Villa drew 1-1 at West Ham United to stay afloat, Watford conceded three first half goals to lose 3-2 at Arsenal while Bournemouth’s 3-1 at Everton could not save them from relegation.
