Manchester United conceded in the first half and could not muster a comeback as they lost 1-0 to West Ham United in their English Premier League (EPL) match at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Said Benrahma scored the only goal of the game, thanks to a shaky David de Gea error as Manchester United‘s top-four hope took a huge dent.

In a match Man United started brightly and made several chances they couldn’t put away, it was an inspired West Ham that took the lead through Benrahma in the 27th minute, thanks to poor goalkeeping.

The Algerian winger’s tame shot from outside the penalty area was pushed into the net by De Gea to the delight of the home fans.

West Ham had two further goals ruled out for offside as the London side saw out the encounter for three important points that moves them seven points away from the relegation battle.

The result also means Man United have suffered consecutive league losses and remain fourth in the league, two points behind third-placed Newcastle and one point ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool who have played a game more.

Elsewhere, Arsenal won 2-0 away at Newcastle United, courtesy of Martin Odegaard’s opener and a Fabian Schar own goal to reduce Manchester City’s lead to just one point.  The Gunners are on 81 points from 35 matches while Man City have 82 points from 34 games.
