Many residents were displaced after flood took over the Ilawe-Ekiti axis of Ekiti state on Thursday.
Several buildings and farmlands were affected by the flood.
In a statement on Monday, Kayode Adaramodu, founder of Odundun Vanguard (OV), a political reform group, sympathised with the people over the incident.
He called on well-meaning people of the state to come to the aid of the victims and charged the government to find a lasting solution to the problem.

“It is imperative, that as sons and daughters of this great town, we stand up to the challenge and ask ourselves what we can do for our community to alleviate the impact of this natural disaster,” Adaramodu said.
“I enjoin my fellow brothers and sisters to reach out to the community at this time to alleviate the conditions of the people.”
Adaramodu encouraged his fellow town men and women not to allow the incident dampen their spirit but use the situation as a stepping stone to rebuilding the community.

He called on the state government to expedite actions on providing lasting solution to environmental disasters, especially, perennial flood, plaguing the town because of the towns’ topography.
