Many were killed in Nnewi, Anambra state, on Christmas eve, after explosion rocked a gas station.
The incident reportedly happened at Inter Corp Oil limited, a gas station located at Nnewi-Okigwe road in the town.
According to a witness, a fire broke out while a truck filled with gas was discharging its content.
Zico Prince, another witness, told The Nation that his relatives escaped through luck.

“It’s a pity. Thank God for saving my sister and her family from the incident,” the paper quoted him as saying.
Most of the victims were said to be workers of the station.
Some of the victims are said to be responding to treatment at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital in the ancient town.
