For the first time in the history of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, market capitalisation stood at N14.38 trillion at the end of trading on Tuesday.
Market capitalisation the bourse has crossed the N14 trillion mark three times in the history with the first time being on June 14, 2014; 53 years after NSE trading started.
All Share Index also closed above 40,000 points — first time since June 2014.
There were a total of 47 gainers as against seven losers.

Seplat led gainers on the market, gaining N10 to close at N660 per share.
Other gainers that made up the top five gainers were Dangote Cement, Guinness, Conoil and Presco Plc.
Nestle led losers on the market, losing N50 to close at N1450 per share.

Other losers that made up the top five losers on the market were Glaxo Smithkline, Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), Union Bank and UAC Property Development Limited.
Shares from the banking industry were the most traded on the market as shares belonging to four banks made up five of the most traded shares.
Four hundred and fourty-one shares belonging to Diamond Bank exchanged hands at N219 million, making it the most traded on the bourse.
Other shares that were traded in large quantities to make top five most shares belonged to Transcorp, First City Monument Bank, Zenith Bank and Access Bank.
