Martins: Keshi doesn’t like me

Super Eagles forgotten man, Obafemi Martins has pointed the finger at coach Stephen Keshi for his international limbo saying the Big Boss does not like him.

The 30-year-old, who last played for Nigeria against Kenya in 2013, had hoped his form with Seattle Sounders in the Major League Soccer (MLS) would earn him a recall to the national team but Keshi was obviously not impressed.

Martins, who later quit the national team in December after waiting in vain to add to his 39 caps, said it was mostly personal issue with the coach.

“I don’t think he likes me, that’s all,” Martins said.

“I don’t have any issues with him. I respect him as a coach but I think Keshi doesn’t like me.”

The former Inter forward scored 17 goals for Sounders last season and was one of three finalists for MVP.
