Marvelous Marvin Hagler, middleweight boxing legend, has passed away.
Kay Hagler, the boxer’s wife, broke the news of his demise on the Marvelous Marvin Hagler fan club on Facebook. Hagler died on Saturday at the age of 66.
“I am sorry to make a very sad announcement,” she said.
“Today unfortunately my beloved husband Marvelous Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home here in New Hampshire.

“Our family requests that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.”
Hagler was the undisputed middleweight champion between 1980 and 1987.
The southpaw New Jersey great was also an inductee of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Hagler, who won 62 of his 67 fights, was dethroned as the middleweight world champion in April 1987 in a controversial defeat to Sugar Ray Leonard.
Tributes have begun to pour in for the boxing icon as words of his death spread.
