Supporters of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), on Saturday, embarked on rallies across Delta state.
The march held amid activities to mark Nigeria’s 62nd independence anniversary.
Nigeria gained independence on October 1, 1960.
Supporters of the LP “took over” the stadium in Warri, Delta state, as they marched around the stadium bearing banners, flags, and also dressed in outfits showing their support for Obi.

The LP candidate supporters, also known as ‘Obidients’, also marched along several roads in Asaba, the Delta capital, chanting ‘Obi’ and ‘we no dey give shishi’.
Several of them also wore shirts and caps branded with pictures of Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed, LP vice-presidential candidate.
The movement of the crowd caused gridlock on roads as cars and tricycles could not move freely for a while.

Meanwhile, supporters of Obi also held rallies across other states, including Lagos.
The supporters gathered as early as 7:30am despite the rain, at the extension of Archbishop Vining church in Ikeja GRA.
One of the proposed rallying points of the march in Lagos was the Lekki tollgate — a development that generated varied reactions.
But on Wednesday, a federal high court in Lagos ordered the LP and its supporters not to converge on the Lekki tollgate for the rally.
