Lagos-based MFM FC turned in a top-drawer performance in the 3-0 demolishing of El-Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.
Austin Ogunneye scored the first goal for MFM in the 17th minute while Sikiru Olatunbosun added a second in the 26th minute.
With Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, in the stand, top scorer, Stephen Odey, earned his 14th goal of the season from the penalty spot to make it 3-0.
The victory against second-placed El-Kanemi helped MFM displace Plateau United from the top of the Nigerian Professional Football League. The Jos-based team didn’t play due to the continental assignment of their opponent, Rangers.

In some other matches played on Sunday, Wikki Tourists defeated Gombe United 3-1 as Sunshine Stars beat Remo Stars 1-0.
Akwa United secured the only away win of the weekend as they beat Kano Pillars 1-0 in Kano.
It was another 1-0 home victory for ABS in Ilorin as they pipped visiting Nasarawa United.

Shooting Stars secured a 2-1 victory against Niger Tornadoes while Katsina United came from a goal down to defeat Enyimba 2-1.
Meanwhile, NPFL champions, Rangers threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Zesco of Zambia in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The result puts Rangers’ hope of progressing to the group stage in jeopardy.
