Victory for Rivers United, MFM in rescheduled NPFL games

In the two rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches played on Thursday, MFM FC and Rivers United defeated Nasarawa United and Akwa United respectively.

Nasarawa United fell to a 2-1 loss away to MFM FC at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos.

Zinte Udeh gave the Olukoya Boys the lead just before the six-minute mark when he dispatched his penalty kick beyond Suraj Ayeleso.

Julius Emiloju then doubled MFM’s advantage from close range after Abubakar Abdullahi failed to adequately clear the ball.

Nwani Ikechukwu gave the visitors a late lifeline when he converted from close range, but the hosts held on to take the maximum points.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United sent Akwa United back to Uyo empty-handed with a 2-0 win.

Emeka Ogbugh and Ohawume Malachi were on the scoresheet for Rivers United.
