Following its $2.5bn purchase of video game maker, Mojang, Microsoft has slated a ‘Windows 9’ event in San Francisco for September 30.
“Join us to hear about what’s next for Windows and the enterprise”, the invitation to the event reads.
Tech analysts have been expecting the software maker to produce another version of Windows, following the launch of different innovative trend-setting gadget, including Apple iphone 6, which was launched last week.
The ‘Windows 9’ event will focus on enterprise and power users of Windows.

Joe Belfiore and Terry Myerson – two Microsoft executives – are expected to lead discussion around the future of Windows.
The launch of Microsoft Windows 9 could signal a big breakthrough in the software market. New features expected to appear in Windows 9 includes the live start menu, a notification centre and Microsoft’s Cortana AI software.
However, there are indications that there may not be a general release to the Window 9 because the product is likely to be a development version.
