John Obi Mikel, captain of the Super Eagles, will miss his team’s next friendly match.
Mikel, who was unavailable to play in the 1-0 win over Poland, says he won’t be able to feature in Tuesday’s friendly encounter against Serbia in London.
The Tianjin Teda midfielder said he is “sad” and “frustrated” over his imminent absence in the game.
TheCable had earlier reported that Mikel has been unable to renew his work permit in China, where he plies his trade.

He wrote: “Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be on the field for our game v Serbia tomorrow.
“I am sad, and frustrated, but giving my full support to the team for another win.”
