A group known as the National Committee of Yoruba Youth says the military should no longer be seen as a threat to “our democracy”.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Odeyemi Oladimeji, president of the group, said the recent warning given by Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, shows that the military is interested in protecting civilian rule.
Buratai had warned his men against hobnobbing with politicians.
