President Muhammadu Buhari held a private meeting with Olusegun Mimiko, Ondo state governor, on Monday.
Mimiko arrived at the presidential villa at 12:10pm, and he went straight into the president’s office.
After leaving the president’s office, Mimiko went into another meeting with Abba Kyari, chief of staff to the president.
The meeting was still in progress when this report was filed.

This is the second time the governor will hold a private meeting with Buhari in less than a month.
On October 28, Mimiko was at the villa for a meeting with Buhari after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognised Jimoh Ibrahim as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ondo governorship election.
He also met Buhari briefly in Akure, Ondo state capital, on Saturday.

Mimiko is a member of the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the party, which picked Eyitayo Jegede as its candidate for the election, while the Ali Modu Sheriff faction picked Ibrahim.
On Friday, the appeal court, which heard the appeal of Jegede against the recognition of Ibrahim as the candidate of the PDP, adjourned judgment indefinitely.
The governor’s meeting with the president is coming a few days after the decision of the court.
The Ondo governorship election is scheduled for Saturday.
