Misau: I didn’t make any allegation against ‘highly revered’ Aisha Buhari

Isah Misau, senator representing Bauchi central, says he had no intention to attack Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Misau had claimed that Ibrahim Idris, inspector general of police (IGP), gave two SUVs to the president’s wife upon her request for a Sienna and Hiace.

But the first lady denied the allegations, saying she had been using her personal cars.

Although the police later confirmed allocating two vehicles to the security personnel of the president’s wife.

However, Misau took to Twitter to say the subject of his allegations is Idris, adding that focus should not be shifted to the “highly revered” wife of the president.

He said he brought up the issue of the cars to show how the IGP “carelessly paraded” documents in the public.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I did not make any allegations against the person of the highly revered Wife of the President @aishambuhari,” the tweet read.

“IGP Idris LEAKED correspondence w/ @MBuhari, COS, Dir. NIPSS, ADC @aishambuhari & CPSO @MBuhari to d public in docs filed at FCT H/Court.

“Shocked to find docs & minutes of @MBuhari & top govt officials carelessly paraded in public by IGP in clear BREACH of Official Secrecy.

“I query d motive behind such indiscretion given tht said docs have little or no bearing on d matter of malpractice @PoliceNG. Suspicious!

“Again, I make it abundantly clear: IGP Idris submitted official docs mentioning names of respected personalities. NOT ME.”
