Alvan Morata scored his first Chelsea hat-trick as Stoke slumped to Antonio Conte’s men at the Bet365 Stadium.
Chelsea are hot on the tails of Manchester City and Manchester United in the English Premier League, having made a superb recovery from their opening day 3-2 defeat to Burnley.
Morata showed why he will be a more than an adequate replacement for Diego Costa when he took a lovely pass from Tiemoue Bakayoko with a nice first touch and shot it past Jack Butland to score Chelsea’s opener inside two minutes.
A mistake from Darren Fletcher saw Pedro double the visitors’ lead when he sent a right-footed shot into the far corner of the goal in the 30th minute.

Morata scored two goals inside the last 12 minutes of regular time to earn his first Chelsea hat-trick.
Nigerian wingback, Victor Moses, who had a good game, provided the assist for one of Morata’s goals.
Although Stoke offered a resilient challenge, at the end of the game the scoreline was an unflattering 4-0.
