Moses out of Eagles squad for Congo, South Africa games

Stoke City winger Victor Moses was excluded from the list of 23 players called up for next month’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Red Devils of Congo and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.

Moses, who just secured a season-long loan deal with the Potters, tops the names of players who were in the last World Cup in Brazil conspicuously missing from the list. Others are Osaze Odemwingie, Michael Uchebo, Reuben Gabriel, Shola Ameobi and Babatunde Michael.

The list released by the Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday includes goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, defenders Kenneth Omeruo and Efe Ambrose, midfielders Ogenyi Onazi and John Mike Obi, and forwards Ahmed Musa and Emmanuel Emenike.

Elderson Echiejile, who missed the World Cup as a result of injury, Nosa Igiebor who was left out of the final cut for Brazil and Chinedu Obasi who was not considered for the tournament, are all back in the team.
