Moses returns, Yobo strikes 100

Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses, will return to the Nigerian starting lineup against France on Monday evening, as both teams battle for a place in the quarter-finals of the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Moses hasn’t played at the tournament since his substitution early into the second half of the first group-phase match against Iran.

Moses’ absence was rumoured to be caused by a rift with Coach Stephen Keshi, but the coach later clarified that the Liverpool FC loanee was injured.

Having passed a late fitness test, Moses returns to replace the impressive Michael Babatunde, who suffered a hand fracture from an Ogenyi Onazi shot in the match against Argentina.

Asides this change, the starting lineup is unchanged from the last match, as Joseph Yobo retain’s his spot in the team, despite Godfrey Oboabona’s return from injury.

By featuring in the match, Yobo becomes the first Nigerian footballer to hit a century if appearances for the Super Eagles.
