Moses Simon, Super Eagles forward, says Cristiano Ronaldo, Portuguese football star, is his role model.

Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, having won five Ballons d’Or in his football career across England, Spain and Italy.

The Portuguese superstar, who turned 35 in February, is also a five-time Champions League winner.

In an interview with Tribal Football, Simon said he admires Ronaldo’s determination and consistent development.

The 25-year-old said Juventus attacker inspires him to work harder and improve himself.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is the player I modelled my game after. I want to keep on working hard and improving like him,” he said.

In June, Simon signed a four-year deal with FC Nantes of France.

The Ligue 1 side said the club exercised the buy out option from Levante, a club in Spain, to purchase the Nigerian international for €5 million.

Speaking on the difference between La Liga and Ligue 1, Simon said the Spanish league requires more tactics while the one is France is more physical.

“I think both leagues are very good, highly competitive and very exciting to play,” he said.

“La Liga is more technical, while Lique 1 is more physical. That is the main difference aside from the language too. For me, it is a big honour to have played in both leagues.”

Simon also said that Thiago Silva, PSG defender, remains the toughest opponent he has faced in his career which has spanned Slovakia, Belgium, Spain and France.
