Mother of two, Penelope Cruz, named sexiest woman alive

Penelope Cruz, Spanish actress  and model, has been named as the Sexiest Woman Alive in 2014 by United States magazine, Esquire.

Cruz is the ninth woman to be bag the title, given annually since 2004. Originally part of the ‘Women We Love’ issue of the magazine, the feature was designated as a benchmark of female attractiveness.

American star actress, Angela Jolie, was the first to be crowned with the title, while Scarlett Johansson, another American actress, got the title twice – in 2006 (at age of 21, the youngest at the time) and in 2013. Other women to have received the title include actress Jessica Biel, South African Charlize Theron (first African winner), Halle Berry, Kate Beckinsale, Minka Kelly, Mila Kunis and singer, Rihanna.

At the age of 15, Cruz got signed as a model, and a year later, made her TV debut.

At age 17, she met the man that was to be her husband while filming the movie, Jamon Jamon.  Married to Javier Bardiem, Spanish actor, since 2010, Cruz is the sexy mother of two children.

The beautiful actress is also modest and says she doesn’t feel like the sexiest woman alive but is simply “a mother who doesn’t get enough sleep”.

As for what makes her unique aside her beauty and obvious sex appeal, she is well-learned in classical ballet and theatre, speaks four languages and has been featured in several movies.
