More than 200 racers and enthusiasts have participated in the inaugural Nasarawa state Auto Sports which took place in Lafia.

The event was facilitated by Sani Jibo, president of the state’s Motorsports community.

“We are glad the sport is now well accepted in the state. It is worthy of note that before the formal running of this project, several groups have engaged in the sport at different levels within and outside Nasarawa. We are determined to coordinate it and bring value to all stakeholders,” Jibo said.

“We are glad the government saw value in the empowerment that the sport can bring, especially its impact on the local economy and the huge potential of becoming a large pool for tourism in the state.”

TheCable learned that Habeed Nagode from Zuru Auto Sports was adjudged the best drifter at the one-day event, edging Capo and Kawo Yola who finished in second and third place respectively.
