President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe delivered a wrong speech at the opening of the country’s parliament on Tuesday.
Apparently unaware that it was the same speech that he delivered during his state of the nation on August 25, Mugabe read the 25-minute-long speech from beginning to end.
George Charamba, Mugabe’s spokesman, blamed the mix-up on the president’s office.
“The mix-up happened in his secretarial office, therefore the delivery in parliament should be set aside,” Charamba was quoted as saying in the state-owned Herald newspaper’s online edition.

“The error is sincerely regretted and corrective measures are being considered.”
Charamba said Mugabe would read the correct speech later at a Harare hotel.
