MultiChoice said further price changes may be necessary due to the upcoming increase in South Africa’s value-added tax (VAT) rate, which will rise to 15.5 percent from May 1.

“We will communicate the impact of this VAT increase on your package pricing during April 2025,” the company said.

Byron Du Plessis, chief executive officer (CEO) of MultiChoice SA, said the company’s pricing adjustments were made with careful consideration of the financial strain on consumers.
