Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, has assured that his administration will not fail the people of the state.
According to a statement by Tersoo Kula, spokesperson to the governor, Alia spoke at the IBB Square in Makurdi when he addressed a crowd celebrating the tribunal judgment that upheld his election on Monday.
The governor said the decision of the court was a reminder that no one can toy with the mandate of the majority.
Alia described the tribunal ruling as the will of God and that of the people of the state.

He said God has used him to bring back smiles on the faces of Benue people, adding that his administration would not fail them.
Alia said a lot of things went wrong in the state but his government would rebuild and make it better for all.
On his plans for the youths, the governor said an information and communication technology (ICT) training programme that would commence soon would give the young people an opportunity to acquire professional skills and keep them away from crime.

Alia also reiterated his administration’s resolve to return the internally displaced persons (IDPs) back to their homes.
He said banditry and terrorism would no longer be allowed in the state, while calling on opposition parties in the state to join hands with his administration.
