Yekini Nabena, a former deputy spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar should stop dragging the country backwards with his case against President Bola Tinubu.
Abubakar is challenging the declaration of Tinubu as winner of the February 25 poll and the judgment of the tribunal that upheld the president’s victory on September 6.
The PDP candidate had alleged that Tinubu’s educational records are fraught with discrepancies and forgeries.
His request for the US court for the northern district of Illinois to compel Chicago State University (CSU) to release Tinubu’s academic records has since been granted.

Abubakar hopes to use the records to unseat Tinubu as president at the supreme court.
During a world press conference on Thursday, Atiku said he would only “drop” the case against Tinubu’s academic records after the apex court’s verdict.
In a statement on Friday, Nabena said Abubakar should begin preparing for the 2027 elections and leave Nigerians alone.

“Let me use this medium to tell the former Vice President to start preparing for another election in 2027 as usual,” he said.
“Heating up the polity over pre-election matters will not make him president of Nigeria.”
Nabena also said Nigerians are currently enjoying good governance under Tinubu.
“Atiku Abubakar should know by now that Nigerians have moved on. The country is now enjoying good governance because this administration is responsive and responsible,” he said.

“Nigerians will no longer wait for months to get their international passports when they apply, over 204,000 backlog has been cleared within three weeks.
