NACC, US-Africa trade desk sign MoU to boost access to American market

The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States-Africa Trade Desk (USATD) to establish a framework for cooperation between both entities.

In a statement on Thursday, Wofai Samuel, the acting director-general of NACC, said the agreement would enhance trade and investment opportunities between the United States and Nigeria.

“The partnership will see the exchange of information on trade and investment opportunities between the United States and Nigeria, develop joint initiatives to support the entry and expansion of businesses in both markets, promote sustainable and ethical business practices in all collaborative efforts and enhance the capacity of Nigerian enterprises to access and compete in the U.S. market,” Samuel said.

“This partnership with USATD will identify reliable Nigerian suppliers that are keen to supply U.S. retailers and manufacturers, which further echoes the effectiveness of Prosper Africa in creating economic growth and job opportunities.”

Samuel also said the chamber signed an MoU with Turkish Airlines for business travel and flight benefits exclusive to its members.

“Members can now enjoy discounted air tickets, flexibility in rescheduling, rebooking, rerouting, cancellation and ticket changes in addition to free ticket(s) on special events,” he added.

Samuel said the partnership is managed by JARA trips, one of the chamber’s member companies.
