Rafael Nadal, a Spanish tennis player, on Sunday afternoon outclassed Novak Djokovic, his Serbian counterpart, to claim a record thirteenth French Open men’s singles title and 20th Grand Slam title.

Nadal, who has now won seven of their eighth matches in Paris, outplayed Djokovic in a three straight set thriller 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 at Rolland Garros in Paris, capital of France.

Nadal created two set points for himself before he flew down a 115mph wide-ace to secure the first set in style. 6-0!

With his 13th Coupe des Mousquetaires, the 34-year-old has now equalled Roger Federer’s record of 20 Grand Slam titles.

The “King of Clay” as Nadal is fondly called has now boasts of a 18-3 record against the Serbs.

Sunday’s game was their 16th meeting at a major – 9-6 in Nadal’s favour – and their ninth in a Grand Slam final, which now stands at 5-4 to the Spaniard.

With 81 consecutive wins on clay, Nadal holds the record for the longest single-surface win streak in the Open Era.
