The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says several insurgents have been killed following an airstrike conducted by troops in Shiroro LGA, Niger state.

According to a Twitter post by the federal government on Sunday, the NAF operation was conducted over the weekend.

The air strike was said to have been carried out after intelligence revealed that Aminu Duniya, identified as a “Boko Haram terrorist commander”, called for a meeting with other insurgents.

The exercise was said to have been conducted by ground and air troops of the Nigerian Army.
