The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has arrested one Pius Eyoh in Lagos. 

Eyoh, who is the owner of Pasco Global Limited, was arrested for allegedly manufacturing, packaging, distributing, and selling a range of substandard and counterfeit cosmetic products.

In a statement on Monday, the agency said it uncovered the illegal activities of the “fake cosmetics producer” at the Balogun Trade Fair Gate, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos state.

NAFDAC said the fake cosmetics produced include Skin Balance Perfect Knuckle Organic Peel Therapy and Golden Face Triple Action Concentrated Perfect Skin.

“Eyoh was caught in the act of processing and packaging these cosmetic products with false labels bearing French inscriptions and a Cameroonian address,” the statement reads.

“NAFDAC’s intervention led to the sealing of the illegal manufacturing premises, Eyoh’s arrest, and the scheduling of his substandard products for destruction.”

On Thursday, NAFDAC raided Sahad stores, a popular supermarket in Abuja, for allegedly selling some counterfeit products.

The agency also raided H-Medix outlets located in Wuse 2 and Gwarinpa, and Utako market, in the federal capital territory (FCT).

The agency said it seized counterfeited items like Nivea products, Jik bleach, Harpic toilet cleaner and Airwick room freshener, in large quantities and valued at N50 million.
