The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says it has destroyed bus-loads of expired, falsified, unregistered, and banned medicines.
In a statement on Sunday, NAFDAC said the medicines, estimated at N100 billion, were seized from the Idumota Open Drug Market in Lagos.
The seizures were made over the course of three weeks during a reinforcement operation.
“The destruction took place at the Lapite Dumpsite in Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo State, with the confiscated products valued at an estimated ₦100 billion,” the statement reads.
