The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has inaugurated a committee to review the feeding and accommodation guidelines to improve service delivery for the 2024 intending pilgrims.
In a statement on Tuesday, Jalal Arabi, chairman of the commission, said reviewing the current guidelines will enable better performance of service providers for next year’s hajj exercise.
“What we are doing now is not to introduce a rocket science but just to improve on the way we are doing things. Like it happens in some other parts of the world, we need to be dynamic,” the statement reads.
“As it is the global practice, we have to improve in our ways, to be in conformity with the international best practices.”

Arabi asked the committee to be committed to the assignment, adding that its report would influence the approach the commission would adopt in implementing the 2024 accommodation and catering services in Saudi Arabia.
“As experienced staff, I have no doubt that you will carry out the assignment with utmost good faith,” he added.
“You also have the leeway to expand beyond the scope of reference, so that whatever recommendation/suggestion you proffer will enrich our knowledge as well as the betterment of the commission.”
