Naija Times set to hold 3rd anniversary lecture, book presentation

Naija Times, an independent online newspaper, is set to hold its three-year anniversary lecture and book presentation on Thursday, October 19.

The newspaper, which says it is committed to building an egalitarian society based on the principles of justice and fundamental human rights, is published by Naija Times Communications Limited.

Reuben Abati, a journalist with AriseTV and a former presidential spokesperson, would be a guest speaker at the event.

The anniversary lecture has as its theme: “Journalism in the service of society”.

The event is sponsored by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), United Bank for Africa (UBA), and Dangote Group among others.

John Momoh, chief executive officer (CEO) of Channels Media Group, will be the chairman, while Olusegun Osoba, former governor of Ogun state, will be the father of the day.

Azu Ishiekwene, editor-in-chief of Leadership Newspaper, will review the book titled ‘For a Better Society’ during the ceremony.

The event will be held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua centre, central business district, in Abuja.

Other guests expected at the anniversary include Ehi Braimah, publisher and editor of Naija Times, Ogbole Amedu-Ode, chairman of third-anniversary committee, and Akpandem James, chairman of editorial advisory board of the newspaper.
