Nasir Idris, governor of Kebbi, says there are no bandit camps in the state.

Idris spoke on Thursday after a security meeting at the government house in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

The governor said the purpose of the meeting was to develop security strategies and plans for 2025.

He said most of the bandits operating in Kebbi are from neighbouring states, including Sokoto, Zamfara, and Niger, and the bordering countries such as Benin and Niger Republics.

Idris said the state government has been addressing security challenges over the past year, adding that there are plans to strengthen vigilante groups to assist security forces in tackling banditry.

The governor added that 1,000 motorcycles would be procured for the vigilante groups to improve their mobility and effectiveness.
