The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says there was an error in the figures given for COVID-19 cases published on April 3.
In a tweet on Saturday, the agency said contrary to the report that 26 new cases were reported in the country, the correct figure is 25, “as the 26th case was a repeat of a previously confirmed case”.
As a result of the adjustment in figures, Nigeria has recorded 209 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and not 210 as previously reported.
A breakdown of the cases reported on Friday are as follows: 11 in Lagos; six in Osun; three in FCT; three in Edo, and one each in Ondo and Oyo.

Of the 209 confirmed cases, 25 have been discharged, while four deaths have been recorded.
“We regret the error in our announcement of new #COVID19 cases in Nigeria yesterday. The NCDC remains committed to ensuring transparency and accurate reporting of infectious disease cases in Nigeria,” the tweet read.
