Nigeria’s daily count of coronavirus infections dropped to its lowest in over one month with 506 new cases confirmed on Sunday.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the new cases were recorded in 20 states.
The last lowest daily count was on January 2, when 576 samples were confirmed positive for the virus.
The 506 fresh cases bring the total number to 139,748. Also, 20 fatalities were recorded in 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths to 1,667.

For the 31 days in January, a total of 297 fatalities were recorded by NCDC.
The breakdown according to states is as follows: Lagos (67), Oyo (39), FCT (24), Edo (22), Rivers (15), Kano (14), Kwara (10), Ondo (10), Plateau (10), Benue (9), Gombe (9), Ogun (9), Osun (9), Sokoto (8), Taraba (8), Adamawa (7), Imo (6), Kaduna (4), Kebbi (4), Bayelsa (3), Ekiti (3), Zamfara (3), Abia (2), Anambra (1) and Niger (1).
According to the NCDC, 360 community recoveries have been recorded for Lagos in 24 hours, 128 in Osun, 121 in Plateau, 89 in Imo and 38 in Kano.

Consequently, the total discharges in the country are 113,525.
