NCDC logs 91 COVID infections in nine states — zero fatality in 21 days 

Nigeria has recorded 91 cases of COVID-19 across the country. 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the infections in its update for March 16, 2021.

According to the agency, the infections were reported in eight states and the federal capital territory (FCT).

Lagos topped the list of new infections with 32 cases, followed by the FCT with 24 infections and Ekiti with 23.

Other states that recorded cases are Rivers (6), Delta (2), Jigawa (2), Kaduna (1), Oyo (1), Plateau (1).

The agency’s data showed that 84 persons have been discharged since Monday after recovering from the infection.

There is no record of fatality for the 21 days in a row.

The country has so far recorded 255,092 cases, 249,457 recoveries and 3,142 fatalities in the 36 states and the FCT.

The agency said it will no longer provide COVID updates daily, but only three times a week.

“Effective TODAY, Nigeria’s daily #COVID19 case updates will now be shared on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,” the NCDC wrote on Facebook.
