The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the National Commission for Persons With Disabilities (NCPWD) have distributed relief items to PWDs affected by a fire incident in Karmajiji, Abuja.
Relief items such as bags of rice, mattresses, wax prints, blankets, pieces of guinea brocade, plastic buckets, plastic cups, plates, spoons, clothes for children, men and women, were given to the beneficiaries at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
NCPWD said the effort underscores government’s readiness to prioritise the inclusion and welfare of PWDs during disasters.
The commission said “these essential provisions aim to address the immediate needs of individuals and families impacted by the disasters, offering comfort and support as they work towards recovery and rebuilding”.
